Walk into most toy aisles and you can count on one hand the toys, books, and games where a Black child sees themselves. We started this site to fix the search that every parent, grandparent, and auntie has done at 11pm: "thoughtful gift for my niece that actually gets her."

Here is how we choose. Representation first: dolls, books, and art where Black children are the main character. Black-owned brands get priority and a badge, because dollars are a vote. And when the best gift in a category is simply a classic, a BRIO train set, a great picture book, a top-rated microscope, we say so. The bar is thoughtful and excellent, not a color-in check box.

Every guide is researched, price-checked, and updated. Some links earn us a commission (see how we make money), which keeps the site free. No brand pays for placement.
